ACK St. James Primary school was established by ACK Cathedral ladies with the Memorial stone being laid on 15th November 1993 in honor of Fiona Wacuka Karuri by Rt. Rev. John Mahiaini.

The school started as a day school but is now a boarding and day school for boys and girls.  It runs from baby class to class 8 and currently has a capacity of over 300 pupils, 12 teachers, and 7 non-teaching staff. The school has a school van and bus for ease in transportation of day scholars and school trips.  The school is run by a school management committee (BOG) appointed by the church.

Due to the high demand for the school, the church has begun the process of expanding the school.
